Melanie Perkins-Smith - Dance Du Coeur Sugar Land Dance Studio
Melanie Perkins-Smith is a former competitive gymnast turned dancer who has studied under the late Mary Baird, Phil Black, Frank Hatchett, Broadway Dance Center and Stepps. Her instruction included ballet, tap, modern, hip-hop, jazz, voice and acting.
She later formed two non-profit performing arts group in New York under her company Brionn Entertainment Inc. which included Long Island Starz and the Great Neck Performing Arts Group. Under her direction, the groups performed for and with the Ronald McDonald House, political dignitaries, Savion Glover star of The Tap Dance Kid, Six Flags and more. Through Brionn Entertainment, she entertained crowds as a professional emcee at over 300 corporate and celebratory events in New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania and Massachusetts. Two of her clients included Howard Stern and Richard Simmons.
Melanie teaches Beginner Jazz and Tumbling for Dancers at Dance Du Coeur.
