Our Sugar Land Dance Company

The Dance Du Coeur Company is a competitive dance group for ages 5 and up serving Sugar Land, Greatwood, Richmond, Rosenberg and surrounding areas in Fort Bend, Texas.  Dance students attend up to five Houston area competitions in the spring, between March and May, and also attend Intensives and Workshops throughout the year.  Company members are allowed to enter competitions in February with Solo, Duos, or Trio pieces if they choose.  Winners of the regional competitions qualify to enter a National Competition and the decision to attend an event outside of Houston will be made towards the end of the dance season.

Company members attend dance class Monday through Thursday (10 to 15 hours a week), with core classes in Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, and Contemporary. Elective classes in Tap, Expression, Leaps & Turns, and Hip Hop are suggested. Company members can take as many classes as they like with no additional charges.  For students who are serious, dedicated, and excited about dance, belonging to Company means they will get the maximum amount of quality instruction each week.  They may also practice privately in any available room when it is open.  Each Company dancer will have every opportunity to develop their technique and artistry, as well as their self confidence and self discipline.

Belonging to Company also means working well with a team.  Good sportsmanship, peer support, polite manners, and maturity are expected.  Positive attitude, combined with hard work and long hours together, results in a strong bond between Company members.  We think you will form genuine friendships here that will last a lifetime.

The three groups in Company are:

Apprentice – Dancers aged 5 through 8 who have had at least one year of Ballet and Jazz.  Apprentice Members attend classes twice a week (about two hours a week) in Ballet, Jazz, and Tap.  They attend one workshop a year and one competition in the spring.

Company 2– Dancers aged 9 through 13 who are selected through an auditions process.

Company 1 – Dancers aged 11 and up who are selected through and auditions process.
